Unfortunately, basing spam rules on what's in the From: field is pretty pointless - it's the easiest to spoof. a blackhole-based spam filter is far more likely to effectively eliminate spam. Sadly, I still get rather a lot of it even after running through a blackhole filter - but it's about 1/10 of what it would be otherwise.

Spam is going to continue until either everyone running an SMTP server gets a clue and locks it the hell down, or some fundamental changes are made to the way e-mail is delivered.
