1. In Word, place the insertion point where you want to insert
the variable.
2. From the Insert menu, choose Field.
3. Under Categories, select Date and Time.
4. Under Field Names, select the type of date you want to
display: CreateDate, Date, PrintDate, SaveDate, or Time.
5. Click on the Options button.
NOTE: In Word 2000, the EditTime item presents a list of
numeric formats, from which I infer that EditTime is intended
more for use as a revision or edition number.
6. Under Date-time, select the format in which you want to
present the date and time.
7. Click on the OK button.
8. Click on the OK button.
The date and time fields refresh themselves pretty much as their names suggest.
