This is a vocabulary question and, without knowing the context, any answer is guessework. The word "force" is actually used a lot in computing, e.g.

-f "force" is a switch in some commands to force overwriting, etc.
"Forced EC" is a modem setting
OSX has a "Force Quit" command
You can "brute force" a password... etc.

Though it seems a little harsh out of context, it may be appropriate in context, like "kill" (another Unix command).
