I have never missed a deadline. I can attribute that, in part, to the fact that an unreasonable deadline for ME is also an unreasonable deadline for the engineers. Thus, projects slip, my deadlines slip, and everyone gets some breathing room.

Otherwise, I just do whatever it takes to get the project done. And that generally does NOT mean tons of overtime, though I have done some.
