I'm trying to get started in editorial freelancing, and I need to read up on
this subject. Got any books you could recommend? I was thinking of "Editorial
Freelancing: A Practical Guide."

If you ask this question on the copyeditors' list (which includes a lot of technical editors), you'll probably get some excellent suggestions.
