Thanks for this post. Since I am very interested in space exploration, I
will reply, but I'll keep it brief.

Yes, it is a tragedy. We will mourn. Then we will find out what went
wrong, pick up the pieces, and go on with the space program. It is too
vital a part of our future to abandon.
