TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
What adds insult to injury with this, is that when you go to apply for a
mortgage or car loan, or.... they look at the credit report. Not only does
the lender look at the ratings and scores on the report, they also (for some
reason) look at the number of times an entity has run a credit check. If
there are several more credit checks on your report than you have loans (be
it credit cards, mortages, whatever), they can view that as a negative.
While the credit report that the potential employer sees may not impact the
job offer, the fact that another credit check was done could affect your
rating.
Figure that one out!
