Subject:RE: Field vs. text box? From:Lyn Worthen <Lyn -dot- Worthen -at- caselle -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 4 Feb 2003 14:22:53 -0700
Another method would be to provide brief definitions of new terminology in
marginal notes (we used callout boxes) or a glossary. We did this in a
manual I wrote for a non-tech audience, and it worked out very well for
them. It also kept us from having to constantly reinvent/translate
terminology.

"field" the first time it comes up in a procedure (Like "enter your
name in the Name field - the text box labeled 'name' at the top of the
screen".)
