They are saying they want someone who understands the federal requirements governing their business and can properly document compliance...or something like that ;)

Subject: Any pharmaceutical tech writers out there?
Hi, gang. This is my first message on TechWr-l. I've been out of work for almost
a year. I'm stuck in New Jersey where telecom has dried up and pharmaceuticals
are king. What are they REALLY looking for when they always say, "Need
validation/21 CFR Part 11/cGMP" etc.? How does a person whose main skill is in
the technical writing, not the domain knowledge, convey his value to
pharmaceuticals? How does he get the experience, or at least some basic training,
without getting another bachelor's degree?
If there are any writers reading this who work in the industry, how did you get
there? Do you all have chemistry degrees or what? Thanks for any feedback, and
your patience in reading all my darn questions!
