Hi,

I'd say that platform implies mostly OS, but not necessarily the machine it
runs on. In case with Mac OS, it implies Mac or PowerMac as hardware, in
case of Linux it does not.

In any case it is the OS that is most important when someone has to adapt
the TW material to a specific platform.

But I could also be wrong.
