Subject:'Missing Program File' advised by Norton System Works - PROBLEM SOLVED From:Frank Taylor <taylor_f -at- netvision -dot- net -dot- il> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 20 Feb 2003 09:04:50 +0200
Thanks to everyone who wrote with suggested solutions to the issue.
For the record and should anyone else come across this problem, I solved it
by following the suggestions from Symantec:
Frank, this issue could be due to corrupt file. You can resolve this issue
by two options:
1) Copy the file Gapi32.dll to where WinDoctor expects to find it. Follow
the below steps:
a. Copy the file Gapi32.dll to where WinDoctor expects to find it:
b. Open Windows Explorer.
c. Navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT.
d. In the right Explorer pane, right-click on the file Gapi32.dll and choose
Copy.
e. Navigate to the folder C:\Windows\System32.
f. Right click on the folder System32 and choose Paste.
g. Close Windows Explorer.
h. Reboot the computer.
Now, when you run WinDoctor, the error should no longer appear.
2) Tell WinDoctor to ignore the error. Follow the below steps:
Since this appears to be a problem with WinDoctor, and not with the
Microsoft files mentioned, it is probably safe to simply ignore the problems
so WinDoctor will not keep detecting them. To ignore these problems, refer
to the document Norton WinDoctor is unable to repair an error or finds the
same errors repeatedly.
In a further mailing from them, they wrote:
Frank, in order to troubleshoot this issue, I suggest you to please click

assistance to resolve the issue from reoccurring:
