Re: Extracting text from database to format in Framemaker MIF file
I have been away from the list for a long while. Left the rush rush (and
few jobs) climate of ATlanta and landed in Blacksburg, VA. I am doing a
contract for the government and they have an internal Oracle database
where I can edit online help files. Long term I want to convince them to
use WebWorks to export Frame files to HTML. But for now I have to see if I
can grab the online help text from Oracle and format it into Frame. I have
printed out the Frame MIF reference guide and it looks like it is possible
to create a MIF file to do this.
Depending on your needs, MML (Maker Markup Language) may provide
a much easier way to implement this.
There is an MML online manual included with FrameMaker
(Help > Online Manuals > MML Reference, if you have FM Express
Customization installed).
