Don't promote technical writing; promote YOUR technical writing. Don't
make a "cause" out of it - you'll just annoy people.

Promote yourself. Prove your value. You'll be rewarded. Tech writers that
don't, won't. (Jeez, now I sound like a Johnny Cochran slogan.)
