The only noticeable difference between the originals was that the JPG had some artifacts around the edges of items and text. Otherwise, on my setup, there was no visible difference between GIF, TIF and BMP. So therefore consider file size and GIF wins again with a 97% smaller file size.
All the reduced images were illegible. But what about the un-resized
images? There would be significant differences between them in these
different formats (in quality and/or size).
