OK, after saying "don't resize your graphics if your destination format
is PDF" about a dozen times, I actually sat down and tried it for the
first time in a couple of years. And to my utter bafflement, I have a
GIF resized to 70% in Word that is crystal-clear in a PDF.
Clear in print, that is. On screen it still looks like something the cat
coughed up, which is not good when you need your PDFs to be viewable
onscreen. So I may not be merrily resizing my GIFs anytime soon, but
still, thought I'd better correct my previous statements.
Still sticking to my anti-JPG position, though. <g> Nobody's persuaded
me yet. I appreciate the discussion, though. If anything, this thread
has reminded me how many variables are involved when you're dealing with
image quality.
