Software Exegete in Silicon Valley
"He is far more a man of prayer, a witness, a confessor and a prophet, than
a learned exegete and close thinking scholastic."
---Adolf Deissmann
Not me. Look up "exegete" in your dictionary. Most will say something like "one who practices exegesis." Big help, but at least you don't have far to go in the dictionary to find "exegesis". Webster's online (http://www.m-w.com/) says:
EXPOSITION, EXPLANATION; especially : an explanation or
critical interpretation of a text
Software is one or more programs. A program is a text. I explain software.
I coined the term as a job title when I went to work for Netscape, where we had a "Code Mangler" and a "Software Munitions Specialist" as well as a "Corporate Evangelist". Hey, if there's an evangelist, why not add an exegete?
