Y'know... I can handle a singular "they". Yes, I consider it
informal and do my best to write around it, but I can handle
it. And every once in a while, I've been known to split an
infinitive for the sake of clarity.

What really upsets me is that the possessive before a gerund
is rapidly disappearing from the language and nobody (except
me) even misses it!
