Would you please recommend an electronic transcriber for microcassettes? I think they typically have a foot pedal for controlling the speed of the tape as you type.

Although my Sanyo microcassette recorder has two speeds, I still need to interrupt my typing to press the Stop, Play, and Pause buttons so that I can transcribe relevant portions of interviews. I don't mind doing this for a few interviews. However, I need to interview about 25 people in 10 days to draft a business plan for a client. I plan to take notes, but I'd like to tape the interviews as well for accuracy.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any reviews of transcribers in the online version of Consumer Report at http://www.consumerreports.org/main/home.jsp. In the online catalogue for Staples, at http://www.staples.ca/, I haven't found any suitable transcribers.

In general, I would appreciate any advice about transcribing interviews quickly.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Ruby
