Hi Karen,

I just happen to be taking the XML Professional Authoring class with the
Online-learning folks. So far, I've been pleased. They keep you busy with
assignments every week and the course materials are well done. They provide
the software you need (in my case, an evaluation of XMetal with the promise
of a $100 discount to buy the software after I finish the course). You can
access the course materials from the course CD or online.

The only drawback I've encountered is my class is very small (only 3 people)
so there isn't much interaction going on between us. Also, there's a weekly
chat that's in the middle of the afternoon which I can never attend (on the
other hand, we're not a chatty group so it probably would be a waste of
time). On the plus side, you can email the instructor with questions and
post messages to a discussion group.
