RE: Perceptually true, Technically wrong

Often these cute acronyms are ways for individuals (or maybe groups) to
empower themselves over others. The classic example was (is) lawyer's lingo.
Society has agreed to do away with that ... do we really need to start it
all over, somewhere else?

I read Johns post further down (in the list) ... and adding bellows, Teflon
bearings, and a blessing from God, still doesn't change anything. When I
write service manuals, I don't want to confuse the reader, so therefore a
'fan is a fan!' There is an exception to this ... when the part truly is an
'Air Exchanger' ... but the idea is not to get cute and technical with the
reader.
