TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

To bring this back on topic: in a thread a week or two ago, someone
suggested volunteering some work for a non-profit as a way to add resume
bullets in between jobs. This sounds like a great idea to me. There are
plenty of non-profits out there that need tech-writer help, but my
personal choice for anyone interested in both saving email and
resume-padding (sorry, but they can't pay anything) can be found at
<http://www.spamcon.org/about/volunteer.shtml>.
