You mean that there ARE organizations that have less clout than the STC? ;->

There are quite a few
organizations out there that offer all sorts of "excellence" awards. If I'm
going to put something on my resume that shows I won an award, it better
darn well be from an organization of value in my industry.

This is exactly the reason that I have little use for awards. It might be an exaggeration to say that a document that hasn't won an award hasn't been submitted to a contest, but that's how I feel.
