I have only recently realized just how much non-geeks are totally bored with
and/or frightened by technology. To their minds, as soon as one masters one
package or skill, the next version has come out and you have to spend time
and money to upgrade and learn it all over again.

I had the occasion to get into a technology discussion with a friend up the
street. My wife happened to be in the room and I could see how bored she
was. She is Web and computer literate, but tech itself is not interesting to
her. She uses it strictly as a tool.

Instead of calling the presentation "Technology isn't just for Geeks!" I
would call it something like, "Technology for the Rest of Us." For one
thing, when reading the first title, some will probably say, "Oh, yes it
is!" Some may also shy away from anything mentioning geeks. The second title
sounds a bit more inclusive; friendlier, if you will.
