Well . . . a strong portfolio would show me your
training, education, and experience put to use, let me
know what you are capable of, and permit me to
extrapolate. Then, I could consider your sales
pitch/psychobabble at the interview in terms of your
past work . . ..

So, impress me with what you have done and wine and
dine me with promises of the future . . . but without
the portfolio, it is nothing more than promises and a
leap of faith . . ..
