TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Look, guys...we all know about figures and how pure numbers are a ridiculous
way for some people to prove any point. Look at validity of numbers
regarding the length of the Chinese Emperor's nose.
Maybe a majority of my 42 posts were answers to many of the 1 count posters.
Maybe after we trim down the list based on numbers, we can start discussing
how numbers of pages written per day has a direct correlation to the skills
of the technical writer, and then we can hit on how the more writers per
developer, the better the documentation
I can make a single controversial post in a day that will generate many
posts from many people, yet contribute nothing to the skills of technical
writers. Some of us do that. Am I, because I posted only one message, a good
list citizen, and by posting 10-15 answers to various questions, a bad list
citizen?
Guys...I rely on this list for answers to questions that help me do my job.
Without that, I don't need to be here. At the same time, I'm happy to offer
advice to other questions. I'll also object to anyone who makes a judgment
on the list's qualities because the posts are fewer.

I think this proves that even with a 1 post per day limit, the affect to the
list would not be disasterous. Although it would stop 31% of the posts, only
10
list members of 136 (or 7%) would be affected by the limit. 93% would not be
hindered (on average) by the 1 per day limit.

I believe that these numbers demonstrate that even a 1 post per day limit
would
not dramatically affect the grand majority of the list members. 93% would
not
be affected. Only a small fraction of the listmembers would see their
posting
affected.
