Where do I find this cookbook that you are talking about is it a document reference or is it an app that you use as a plug in?
--> There is an app provided with the guided tour, it is not ready for use, but it's a great start. The cookbook is ususally installed with FrameMaker C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker7.0\XMLCookbook
As far as linking the DTD with XMetal, I want to be able to see the "allowed" elements for Docbook, not just insert a DOCTYPE element, I know how to do that and I know how to write XML. I don't need a lesson on XML I need advice on an XML editor that is going to give me what I want. And one of the criteria is that I can choose the element from a shortcut menu or a window.
--> Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I cannot help with this one.
I am not scared to get technical, I actually quite enjoy it, but I need someone to help me - this why I thought I would subscribe to this forum.
I need guidance, not someone to do it for me.
--> I am an ex-programmer, I teach computer programming at night, and I use help from my collegues who can code or script faster than I can because they do it everyday. Since I have an analyst/programmer assisting, we often discuss the possibilities either at lunch or during breaks, the project is growing and becoming more and more precise. We are finding new ways to automate processes and new processes to automate. I find that sharing ideas is great for innovation.
Good luck and let us know how your project is going, what's working and what's not working! Your experience in moving your doc to XML is very interesting to me, and to others on this list.
