No, they won't. You only obtain a clearance when a company
or agency that employs or wants to employ you submits you
for one because it decides you need one, simply working for
such a company or agency provides no opportunity for you to
obtain one yourself.

Companies can sometimes be single-minded on the subject of
current clearances to the point of absurdity. I got a call
back in Feb from a recruiter acquaintance of mine who
thought he had a "perfect" opening for me. We ticked off
the list of requirements, and they were all right on until
he said "current secret clearance." I told him it wouldn't
work because my secret clearance terminated with my last
DoD job over 10 years ago. He wanted to put me in for it
anyway, so I told him go ahead. Naturally, no go. 6 months
later he tells me the position is still unfilled, the client
company sounds as if it's becoming exasperated and nobody
he's talked to who meets all the requirements and has an
active clearance will bite because their own companies'
positions have improved since 9/11. But the client is
still holding fast on the "current secret clearance."
When I was last in the DoD field, a secret clearance could
have been cleared in the 6 months it's taken this company
to not find someone. Maybe it takes longer now.

If you think this is an important "skill" to possess, then look into obtaining

such clearance. Surely there are government jobs available that do not require

such clearance, but will give you the opportunity to obtain such clearance.
