I would appreciate some help if someone is familiar with hyperlinking to a
PDF from DOC.
My problem is to prevent Word from adding an absolute path to the
hyperlink.
I find that no matter how I play with the hyperlink, Word sticks in an
absolute path.
My DTP platform: Word 2k, Win XP, Acro 5.
I already tried these solutions:
- Open DOC file with File | Open; both DOC and PDF in same folder
- Insert hyperlink as Insert | Field code with PDF filename
- Same and then toggle on code and then enter PDF filename directly to
code
- Insert hyperlink as Insert | Hyper and enter filename (rather than
select filename)
- Same with filename in quotes
- Searched techwrl and MSDN for ideas
- In Tools | Options | General | Web Options : turned off Update Links on
Save
- In File | Properties (| Hyperlink Base: tried to force relative path
with variations on the theme of "..\doc\" with the goal of saying "go up a
folder and come back down to the "doc" folder"
