Well... it depends? :-)

Actually, we did talk about it after the laughter died down. It's possible this could happen to a user, but we think it's unlikely. I believe that the default IE setting is to check for new content each time a page is called... Even if it were not, there's no obvious way to script clearing the cache.

I am noting this for support, and suggesting that if they hear about it from end users they create a Knowledge Base article on this.

Good questions, though.

LOL. Great story. Now, two serious questions:

1. If you upload a new version of an HTML Help file after users have already
begun to use a Web-based application, will they also have to manually clear
their IE or Netscape caches?

2. If the answer to #1 is "yes," is there a way to script this function into
the application itself? The idea is that the app would automatically clear
specified files from the user's browser cache(s) every time it is launched,
so that they could be replaced by the latest version.
