Very few things scare me. A psycho jumping at me with
a knife? Yep. Certification? Hardly.

My contention with certification is that it creates an
artificial unit of perceived experience. Knowledge
does not equal experience. As a hiring manager, I
could care less about an applicant's level of
education and certification. I've been burned by idiot
PhD's before. I know IT and engineering managers who
have been burned by certified engineers.
