Well, you could do what I've sort of fallin into the past two years--
managing offshore doc projects. Someone has to assure that the docs
meet the requirements and work, so there may be jobs coming that are
more QA/management than first-line writing and editing. I got into it
by accident, after an offshore company contacted me to edit stuff they
did to make sure it conformed to US English usage. After doing that,
they asked me to manage a couple of projects and be the liason between
their writers and their clients here in the States.
I'm not sure I like it as much as writing, but my bills get paid...
