Using PageMaker 7 under Windows, but I imagine the same problem exists
elsewhere: I'm trying to figure out how to insert automatically updating
page cross-references in text (not in the index, thanks). Something like
"See the cross-references section on page 73". The goal is to avoid having
to manually update the page numbers each time we add or delete sections of
the document and thus change the location of the referenced heading.

I can't for the life of me find any way to create them. There's nothing in
the index, nothing obvious in the menus or online help, and there doesn't
even seem to be a plug-in for this--though since I didn't install the
software, I'm not sure what plugins may exist but simply weren't installed.
I can't believe PageMaker doesn't have this feature--but then again, I'm
still trying to wrap my pointy little head around the fact that nearly 20
years after its invention, it still doesn't have automatic footnotes and
endnotes.

Am I just suffering from the online form of male refrigerator blindness <g>,
or is this feature really missing from PageMaker?

Thanks for any suggestions. (I'll be taking a few days off and might not be
able to reply to you before next Tuesday.)
