Well, that's what I meant, but now that I read what I wrote, I can see the ambiguity in it. I suppose the more accurate statement would be that my motivation for doing work moves from personal pride in the end result to wanting to do right by the company. I tend to be more "loyal" to the product than to the company making it. But as my accomplishments become more recognized, I attach more loyalty to the company.

Does that make sense?

Not me. My hard work *earns* me more pay. I do what I
do because I like it and I want to be successful. I
don't wait for someone or something to motivate me.
Being proactive makes me happy, makes me positively
visible, earns me recognition, and earns me a nice paycheck.
