Well,

I went back to college when I was 26 and I majored in Scientific and
Technical Communications because I figured I could make twice as much
money while working half as many hours as a journalist. The hours so far
are in-line with that line of thought, and the pay is close.

Before re-entering the halls of education, I worked as a truck frame
inspector for a company that produces refuse haulers and cement mixers,
a component installer for a company that produces cabs for John Deere,
CAT, Ford-New Holland, and computer cabinets for Hewlett-Packard. I also
worked for a beer distributor and oversaw the removal of DLA raw rubber
from an Army Depot. Those are the main "careers" I had. When I was first
in college in the early '90s, I also found myself working in loss
prevention, a grocery store, and a soft-drink distributor. Side jobs
over the past 14 years have included: a bouncer, floral delivery, car
sales, construction, and a DJ.

I guess you could say that I was not entirely focused in my 20s.
