Hi,

I checked out the link that David provided for the Flesch-Kincaid algorithm. A
Flesch-Kincaid scoring plug-in would be easy to write in FrameScript, however
one would need a reliable algorithm or dictionary lookup for determining the
number of syllables per word. Is anyone aware of an algorithm for calculating
syllables? Note that FrameMaker's hyphenation dictionary is not accessible
through FrameMaker's API, so accessing the dictionary from a script is not an
option. Another option would be a public domain dictionary that can be accessed
through SQL (FrameScript provides full SQL capability).
