Well, as MyDMS uses ADODb, it can be made to interact with virtually any
database system.
A little programming should get you check-in check-out functionality. I'll
admit I don't quite like/understand the 'locking' concept currently used.
As MyDMS is PHP based, it shouldn't be rocket science to integrate it with
other PHP/MySQL systems.
So far, we've got it up and running on a department server and are testing
it on an informal basis. So far I like the clean interface and ease of
use. Looking at the internals it might be easy to create a highly
desirable custom application for ourselves.
We're thinking about document types, links, interrelations and
dependancies. Links and dependancies to a comments tracking database are
also on our wish list.
