Writer's inspiration in Latin - can you translate it?
Subject:Writer's inspiration in Latin - can you translate it? From:"Linda Cast" <lcast -at- planview -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 30 Jun 2004 10:19:11 -0500
An estate sale for George Christian, former press secretary to President Lyndon Johnson, provided me a beautifully hand-calligraphied desk sign in Latin. Mr. Christian was also a writer, and it would be fun to know the meaning of a phrase that so inspired him. I checked online translation functions and dictionaries, but it's difficult and I can only find a few words.
Anyone out there who can translate? Are some of the words feminine gendered?
