TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The prospect, which I think I can now safely regard as a real client,
said his figures were his best guess and that we can fine tune them
after I'm more familiar with the program. We're doing a half-day (paid)
training tomorrow.
Now, while I am aware that I do not want to get bogged down in process
documents, I might want to prepare some document that will govern the
work I do, such as an information plan. Btw, what's the difference
between an information plan and a documentation plan? I've been gleaning
what I can online about Hackos' methodology, but without having a copy
of the book, it's a little hazy to me.
I've found a few sample information plans online, but if anyone has a
template in Word for one that would be suitable for a lone writer at a
startup -- in other words, a "stripped down" version that streamlines
things -- I'd love to have a copy.
