Is this true? Forgive me for questioning you, but is this really true?
Hello, my name is Bob and I am an alcoholic...er, technical writer. Is
there a Ten Step Program for bad writers like myself?

Why do you say "And since the STC is not very technically oriented, it's
not much good for keeping up to date, either." I agree, there are more up
to date sources for technical information, and I suppose that the STC
can't possibly be everything to everyone, but I do wonder why a
organization for technical writers is not technically oriented. At least
in your opinion. Shouldn't an organization that caters to technical
writers be technically oriented?

Someone posted that there are not too many writers here that write about
mundane topics like (I think) toaster ovens. I do, but I would not expect
most STC group members to care about such topics and the boring subjects
I prefer. I get the idea that perhaps today's technical writers believe
such topics are far beneath them, so I am not sure how much I would be
welcomed.

Bob
