I have been at my current company for almost a year. This summer, they
made me permanent, which is nice, but, since I'm a single writer, I'm
finding myself getting proprietary about the documents.
When I started here as a contractor, I asked about the "This page
intentionally left blank" that appears on the blank pages, since I haven't
seen them much since the 1980s, but I'm assuming they are still around in
various DOD and other manuals. No one could tell me why we do it.

This message is a pain in the neck, since I'm maintaining existing
documents and creating new ones all the time. It costs me a couple of
hours every project.I'm using Word, so I don't have a blank page template
option. Changing software is NOT AN OPTION, so don't tell me how easy
this would be to do in FrameMaker. I know.
Localization is managed through our European office, so I have to make
sure that the Word docs contain this message, and that the PDFs do.

My goal is to get rid of this, and I know that my manager's reaction (not
a writer, but it's a decent relationship) but I have to sell any changes I
make to what she expects to see.

My question is:
Can anyone think of a reason why we would have to keep this message? We
are a major supplier in the automotive industry, but have no DOD sales.

Looking for additional arguments, etc, anything that will make my case
air-tight.
