Someone mentioned the difficulty of using a truly ergonomic keyboard
when using a laptop at a client site.

I think you may find the Happy Hacker Keyboard Lite just the ticket.
See http://shop.store.yahoo.com/pfuca-store/haphackeylit1.html

This is about half the size of a sheet of paper, but has full-size and
full-travel keys. The USB model also has two extra ports on its back,
into which you can plug a mouse or other device.

I have the original one, but would very much like to "trade up" to the
version 2...

Because your hands basically cover the entire thing, you don't do so
many long reaches with your fingers and it seems to be much more
effortless to type on than most standard keyboards.

It also permits a much closer placement of your mouse to a position
straight ahead of your arm, which seems to be much easier on the mouse
strain as well...you simply don't have to reach so far to the right to
grasp the mouse (or the left...).
