Does any one know of an application (or other quick method) to compare
image files? Ultimately, most of the files to be compared are CGM, but we
receive a wide variety of formats. DWG, WMF, AI, etc.
Essentially, a number of suppliers have the nasty habit of checking out
ALL their illustrations and then uploading and checking them ALL back in
to our system. This means that all of them must be verified and approved,
whether they've been changed or not. Additionally, they must be verified
against comments made to see if the comments have been closed or not.
A binary compare is only really useful to tell if the illustrations are
identical. Really what would be the best would be a way to display two
illustrations, one superimposed on the other, with the differences
highlighted.
Ideally, we'd also be able to add a validation script to out system so
that basics could be verified without human intervention (illustration
size, font, font size, minimum line weight, etc)
