Before I had the MoS, I laboriously reverse-engineered Microsoft's use of language to describe GUI operations. So the distinctions between "type" and "enter" and between "select" and "choose" are very dear to me.

On the check box issue though, I stand defiantly opposed to MoS.

I "check" check boxes because that's what they're called. I think everyone agrees that the opposite of this is to "clear" them. They then become clear boxes. (Just kidding.)
