and ...HTML editor

[disclaimer -- I created a text formatting tool for Burroughs in the early 70s that used embedded tags. It was somewhat derivative of IBM's Text360. So markup tags and I go wayyyyy back.]

I have used HomeSite for years. Nick Bradbury created it, then sold it to Allaire. THEY in turn either sold it to, or else where bought by, Macromedia -- which also publishes DreamWeaver. I have tried DW, but the only task I use it for seems to be populating tables (like on a calendar grid).

FrameMaker is the only WYSIWIG editor that I really like. I've never liked WYSIWYG HTML editors (starting with Netscape's when I worked there). I always liked WordPerfect (pre-Windows) better than MSWord because it gave you access to the embedded codes.

When I learned that Nick B had created TopStyle I ran to get it.
I still use HomeSite for simple nonCSS HTML work, but for CSS it's TopStyle all the way. It's a great product and he maintains a blog at http://nick.typepad.com/blog/ that keeps us abreast of new on TopStyle and his other product, FeedDemon.
