What if the company doesn't want people to prepare for the test? Maybe the company wants to see what answers are given without preparation?

Anyway, "to know something about the test" must necessarily blur into knowing something about the questions and answers if the information is at all detailed. If it doesn't actually become cheating, the only reason would be that nobody could give detailed enough answers to make it cheating.
