Ah yes, I forgot - sorry (I'm a bit sleepy this morning). What you can do
is add an AutoOpen macro to your document (which runs when the document is
opened) which turns off Hidden Text. You can also add exta code to restore
the setting to what the user had before you turned it off.

Normally this is added to the template (see Jonathon West's comments), but
for distribution purposes you will need to add it to the document (I assume
your users don't have the template on their machines).
