Years ago I picked up something from experienced illustrators as they
estimated how long it would take to produce camera-ready artwork. Each
piece of art had to fit in a category of simple, medium or complex.
With modern docs, you need more categories obviously. But a very
simple model can be constructed for bids.
If you are an outsource, then your bidding model takes one road. If
you manage docs in-house, another set of adjustments is included.
