Every time I see somebody make a personal attack either here or on any other
Internet forum, my sympathy for the victim of the attack increases. If the
victim responds in kind, that sympathy evaporates. I suspect that I am not
alone in thinking this way.
Therefore, I suggest that if either of you feels that you have been
personally attacked by the other, by far the most effective response is
silence.
