Very well put Sarah. The voice of experience. People just do not understand or care to understand what a Tech Writer does. If someone that can document their procedures, then that person must also be good at maintaining the paperwork. Two different animals.
I've seen this trend slowly develop along with farming work out to Indian companies (a whole other topic as we all agree).
