Sorry, you've got me confused.
Device specific printer drivers should NEVER be used to
produce PDFs regardless of the "final use" of the PDF. The
only time the physical printer is important is when the
PDF is printed from Acrobat (or Acrobat Reader).
In other words, the person creating the PDF never has to
know what the final output device is. That's the whole
point of the PDF format. The person creating the PDF
should only be aware of file size issues, maximum desired
resolution, and possible compatibility issues with older
versions of reader or acrobat in order to select the
desired PDF settings.
